JoKUCo staff members started to work officially on the 1st of October ,2012. They Started working after being approved by Governing Board of JoKUCo that met on the 27th of September,2012.
JoKUCo Governing Board
On the 7th of October, 2012, the academic year 2012/2013 was opened with a special worship service that was led by Bishop Elias Buberwa of the ELCT – North Western Diocese. In that service, the Provost, Rev. Prof. Wilson Niwagila, Deputy Provost for Administration, Rev. Dr. Abednego Keshomshahara and the Chief Finance Officer, Mr. Godwin P. Lwezaura were sworn in to work at JoKUCo. The Deputy Provost for Academic Affairs (DPAA) Rev. Prof. Festo Bahendwa will be installed to work at JoKUCo when he will be back from Finland. Other workers were introduced in the opening worship service.

JoKUCo Staff Members
Much has been done to put in place the necessary infrastructure to support academic and social affairs at JoKUCo. The Book services, cafeteria and stationary services are offered to JoKUCo community members. The constant supply of water and electricity makes teaching and learning processes possible and comfortable.
Private business people are also playing their roles in social-economic projects which support students’ life at JoKUCo. They have established shops, hostel and hotel near JoKUCo.
There is cooperation between the students of JoKUCo and the community members near JoKUCo. Students play football with the neighboring community groups. JoKUCo students have won three times.
Students have already elected their students government which consists of the President, Vice President and Ministers. The students’ government works well under Dean of Students. There are various religious groups which are operating under the University Chaplain.
Students of Different Christian denominations go to their respective churches on Sundays while Muslims go to mosque every Friday as the timetable allows them to leave for worship. Both staff members and students enjoy staying at JoKUCo which is located in Kagera region with good and attractive climatic conditions.
